What happens if one of my products is damaged/faulty?
If the packaging was damaged upon delivery you must record this on the courier's delivery note when signing for the package; failure to report damage to the package may invalidate any subsequent claim you may make to repair or replace items damaged in transit.
To support any claims we strongly recommend you take photographic evidence of any damage to the packaging (marks, scratches, rips or tears).
It is important that original packaging is retained and used if an item needs to be returned (it is vital that the item is securely packaged when returned). For further information please see our Home & Tech Returns Policy.
Currys:
If you get an item from Currys (either in-store or online) that does not work upon first use please call the Currys contact centre as soon as the damage is discovered on 0344 561 1234. They will arrange an exchange or refund as soon as possible.
IKEA:
Damaged/Faulty part – You can take just the part and your receipt to an IKEA store and they will exchange this for you. Alternatively, you can return the entire item for an exchange or a refund. You can also organise a return for a refund or a replacement through the Track and Manage my order IKEA page, by selecting Manage My Purchase and Start a Claim. If you can’t make it back to an IKEA store or arrange a solution online yourself, please let IKEA know.
If you damaged the item yourself when taking the item home from store, or assembling it, and you swiped your IKEA Family card, you're covered by IKEA Family Card Free Product Insurance for 90 days.
Faulty item – If your item is within its guarantee, usually 1 year unless otherwise stated, you can return the item to a store for a replacement or refund.
Missing part – If the part has a 6 digit code on the assembly guide IKEA can arrange for these to be posted directly to you free of charge. You can fill out a spare parts request on their online form. If there is no 6 digit code, you can visit an IKEA store and they will provide the part for you.
Faulty Kitchen appliance – You will need to contact the manufacturer directly. They will usually arrange for an engineer to visit you and either repair or replace the item for you. You can find their contact details and what information you will need on the IKEA Appliance Claims page.
